Lighting is a critical element of any presentation system. Although we do not offer electrical contracting, we design specialized video lighting systems with years of experience enhancing audiovisual presentation environments.
In planning videoconference systems, the room lighting is often overlooked. Typical ceiling light fixtures may not provide the true-color representation of room furnishings or the skin tones and clothing of participants. Generic room lighting almost always "lights" faces at unflattering angles and with harsh shadows. Notice, in the Brightline video comparison, the difference between typical, overhead task lighting and directional lighting. The visual difference is not only aesthetic; with incorrect lighting, non-verbal communications can be inaccurately interpreted and may impact your message.
Lighting is also important in non-videoconferencing spaces. Although updated projectors no longer require a darkened room for clarity, incorrectly positioned fixtures or lighting zones can make it difficult for the audience to view content. Properly designed room lighting both enhances projected video images and provides balanced levels for taking notes.
